Shanghai reports added arrival guidance as international traffic grows
Border authorities report flexible staffing, extra lanes at peak times and assistance for travelers with health conditions.

Shanghai's official international-services site says its ports recorded more than 30 million passenger crossings by September 9, including 28.24 million through Pudong and Hongqiao airports. Border authorities have adjusted staffing, opened additional inspection lanes during peaks and strengthened on-site guidance.
For a scheduled hospital visit, allow time after landing for immigration and onward travel. The report says help is offered to travelers with health conditions, but does not specify a guaranteed fast lane or transfer service. Confirm any mobility assistance with the airline and airport, and appointment timing with the hospital.
