Shanghai rolls out Hu Xiaoyou travel hubs with multilingual help and international card payment support
A Shanghai government update dated August 21 says the new Hu Xiaoyou service center combines AI trip planning, multilingual visitor assistance, and international card payment terminals, with citywide rollout to airports, hotels, and other visitor locations planned by the end of August.
Shanghai's official English portal reported on August 21 that the Hu Xiaoyou Service Center was launched on August 19 as a one-stop travel service hub covering culture, commerce, tourism, sports, and exhibitions. The source says it combines the Hu Xiaoyou AI travel assistant with the Meet China international card payment terminal.
According to the same update, Shanghai plans to expand Hu Xiaoyou services to 100 locations by the end of August, including airports, hotels, tourist information centers, competition venues, and major scenic areas.
