China extends 30-day visa-free entry to Canada and the UK through December 31, 2026
A State Council English update dated February 15 says ordinary passport holders from Canada and the UK can enter China without a visa for up to 30 days from February 17 through December 31, 2026, for business, tourism, family visits, exchanges and transit.

China's official February 15 update says the visa-free arrangement for ordinary passport holders from Canada and the United Kingdom began on February 17, 2026 and remains effective through December 31, 2026. Eligible stays can last up to 30 days.
For patients and accompanying family members, the practical value is simpler short-stay trip planning when visits fit within the permitted purpose and time window. The policy can support preliminary consultations, second-opinion visits, health checks, rehabilitation follow-up or hospital selection trips, depending on the traveler's own circumstances and compliance with entry rules.
Visa policy does not replace medical admission, appointment confirmation or local registration requirements. Travelers should still confirm directly with the relevant Chinese embassy or consulate, airline and licensed medical institution whether their passport, itinerary length, onward travel plans and appointment documents fit the current rules.
